Review on Sabrent 2.5 Inch Aluminum Enclosure: Ultimate Protection for EC MSSA Drive by Chris Wheeler

The drama I read about this device was disturbing, but the price justifies the risk. Yes I've seen pictures of the DC circuit where it was destroyed and the contact pins melted but conclusively which perhaps meant that this device cannot have this type of damage without an external direct short, be it an extra long screw used by the consumer , or any other change outside the case. In my 50+ years of repairing consumer electronics, whenever a device appears to have suffered damage, which I have seen in the pictures in the poor quality reviews of that device, an outside force has been the primary cause. Although my expression of questionable reviews of this product is based on experience, it is this experience that indicates poor workmanship in soldering this entire device (an example is shown in the image provided). That doesn't mean it isn't. Quality product, it works and installs with no problems, please note you will probably need access to your bios for it to be recognized but I have done nothing on the bios screen except close it again and the Samsung evo860 worked perfectly. I asked the seller about a component (F3) that was very badly soldered and was assured that if there was a problem, a replacement would be sent. Conclusion: The product works; the product was easy to install; the product has value; would buy the product again.
