This is a very old design for a carpet sweeper. I think it first appeared from the Fuller Brush Company back in the day. In any case, it's been widely copied.In this incarnation it's very lightweight and, dare I say it, cheap? none the less, it works fine. It comes with only the handle to assemble which is easy enough, only requiring screwing in the three sections of handle into the base, putting on a couple plastic parts and viola! It works fine and picked up anything reasonably in it's size range. It picked up cat litter (our big tom cats throw the stuff around a lot!) easily and got up random bits of paper or wrapper on the carpet. It's a tribute to the simple, but effective design.Is it worth while? Yes. Does it do the job of picking up dry, small messes on the carpet? Yes.
