Review on Network Device Discovery by Troy Simpson
Easy and straightforward for device discovery
I like that it's easy to use with no setup required! It has been great so far; however we are in need of more reporting options (such as being able find devices via IP address). If you're looking into asset/device inventory this software will work well but if your concerned about security then look elsewhere - there isn't much added benefit from using NDD over other free solutions such an HP QTP or Ping-OmniView unless its very specific needs which may be better met by another toolset entirely anyway :) Its also good because all our new employees can get started right away without having any additional hardware etc installed!!
Pros
- Easy install
- No extra equipment needed
- Does everything i want for my purposes now, just not quite enough.
- Very intuitive user interface even when first starting out..very simple learning curve compared most competitors.ease & simplicity is key here ; )
Cons
- Not too many reports available at present...not sure how customizable these could become though
