Have been waiting for this monitor for a long time (price, performance, size, aesthetics, versatility, durability). Pros: > Most important: no scratches/stains; no dead pixels; all accessories in one box (white); nothing is broken; and arrive on time (in original King Kong packaging); DP cable, wall mount and screwdriver included. Great monitor - the Scepter does its homework...> Price: Compared to others in the 120Hz category and size above, this is a great buy at $600. I've been considering the $1,400 38-inch Alienware β but do I need to save up for a graphics card? > Performance: Everything advertised (165Hz to 30Hz) depending on your hardware and configuration (video settings). I'm testing the Quadro RTX 4000 and RTX 2080. The Quadro runs at a max frequency of 165Hz at native resolution on a Display Port (DP) 4k cable; The 2080 runs at 165Hz over the same cable (maximum 144Hz with HDMI 2.0). Note: This monitor supports a resolution of 4k 60Hz (hardware and software dependent). And if both DP ports are used, one of them will default to 120Hz. Native resolution = 1440p and 60/120Hz. Internal power supply. >> Gaming and professional use: I would wait for further technical tests. I tested Solid Edge 2020 on Quadro (no difference except that I got used to the curve, which was a pleasant surprise). Color accuracy is better than the BenQ 32"/60Hz I work with. I then tested Forza Horizon 4 on an RTX 2080 - pure joy (100+ fps at max settings - probably better after playing around with Nvidia and Windows settings). I won't give a technical overview...> Recommended: Start with the Nvidia 460 branch drivers for this experience. I've had issues with newer 470s on my old devices (unless you have deep scalper pockets and brought a 3000 series card). Sorry AMD, I don't have a driver recommendation. > Size: This thing quickly ate up my desktop, but it's absolutely gorgeous. Recommendation: wall mount (75 x 75 mm) if space is limited. By the way, the company put a wall adapter in the box (very good, strong). I'm sitting 3ft from the screen - so I don't care... it's like a 3D movie now > Aesthetics: My desktop is a cloud white theme with silver accents throughout - so I'm definitely hooked on it. Monitor. Yes, the LEDs on the back are contemporary - at night they don't glare around the room or on the walls. The monitor has a glossy finish - very nice for games, movies and photos. The curve is steep, beautiful, get used to it ... I am very happy with this category > Multifunctionality: picture-in-picture (PNP), picture-in-picture (PBP) both work so monitor was created for these functions . I mean: FPS and fluidity are amazing (probably because I'm short on funds). The remote control is fast and functional - The On Screen Display (OSD) is fluid - easy to understand > Durability: Exceptional build quality - given the price; nothing wobbles or feels brittle - it's a very solid build. Multi-position = up/down, rotate left/right, tilt up/down - keeping each component rigid (obedient); I did a table shake test and the movements were minimal. Cons: (actual warnings) > Bring your own speakers (final warning). I chose the SANYUN brand - with USB powered blue LEDs (perfect). The built-in speakers don't work well.> Don't underestimate the size. This monitor sits on its original stand 10 inches from the wall. This is a real (16:9 aspect ratio and 38.5 inch diagonal) huge... monitor. > UPDATE: Make sure you set your monitor to HDR before setting HDR in NVidia Control Panel. I still don't see a huge difference in color and brightness - unless I'm using HDR content (which is minimal). Hope that helps...
