Review on Proto-Pasta Matte Fiber Gray HTPLA by Brad Schillings

Great color but requires special equipment to print

HTPLA Filament is great because you can print and heat treat it to create an incredibly strong and heat resistant part. Heat treatment is also a problem. If you end up with a hot end that doesn't heat up at all, you end up with an extremely durable clog that is heat resistant. . Yes I had to use a Dewalt drill to clear the blockage. They have a record of this and they state that you can set the temp to 240C and the clog will pop out, which isn't always the case. The E3D V6 has a great transition between heatsink and hot end, but since the barrel is part of the design you will still get thermal creep and eventually clog. The only consistent success I've had with this thread is using Slice's Mosquito hotend. Their cylinder is not part of the structure, so they can eliminate thermal creep. If you are just trying this thread I would not recommend it. I only recommend this thread if you have the setup for it.

Pros

Cons
