Don't use this in your car!

If I couldn't give this one any stars I wouldn't. I have a Dodge Ram 1500 and installed both filters while servicing the transmission. The car was fine for a few days, then the problems started. When I parked the car in the driveway, it wouldn't start. It lasted 5 seconds or more and then died. After the truck had warmed up everything was fine, but after an overnight stay and the first start everything worked again. I did a little research and found a thread about a guy having the same issues as me with Wix Filters. As you can see from the picture the flat filter gasket is not sealing properly allowing all the liquid to just drain into the transmission causing the filter to stop working causing the transmission to shut down and stall. I've done this several times with this truck and installed a seal flush with the flange on the gearbox itself. I've always used Mopar kits and never had a problem. Needless to say I had to disassemble it and in the process lost all my expensive fluid which I had just put in to install another Mopar kit. I bought this kit because I thought Wix was a good brand. The packaging says Made in China (get it yourself). Mopar kit made in USA. I don't normally write bad reviews but this is unacceptable and cost me double due to lack of gasket design. I don't want anyone to make the same mistake I did. After this experience, I will never buy a Wix product again.

  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks
