I bought a metal latch thinking it would be stronger but it was too small for my large letter box. The holes were in the wrong places and the screws kept coming loose. And this one fits perfectly. It took a few tries to figure out how to attach it (the sliding part flips, not the way I originally thought). After getting that sorted I had no issues and after over a year of flexible mailbox door I now have a door that clicks securely. The holes were also in the right places. I don't know what brand of mailbox I have, but it worked.
