Cools the whole house
The fan was installed in an existing window. We actually had to make a special "frame around it" so we could easily slide it in when needed (summer here in Wisconsin) and take it out when it gets cooler. Evening when the air is cooler We've only had one night so far when it didn't cool the house properly until about 2am (it was 100 degrees during the day and down to 90 degrees in the evening). .
