🌀 iLIVING ILG8SFSC - Adjustable Precision Fan Speed Controller 120V 8A, Black Review

Purchase failed 1 day after the return period closed. Garbage. The protective conductor was not crimped correctly. The wire was simply thrown into the box. I had to drill out the rivets to disassemble and solder to the ground terminal. This should be UL listed. according to documentation.

The cruise control is garbage, full of garbage. I bought another one and the same junk. They break and are held together with a couple of rivets, so you can't even fix them without removing one of those flat scraps. The fan works well, the shutters open and close normally etc. Moves enough air so if we don't leave enough openings in the house the water heater pilot will go out and the exhaust gases will be sucked up the chimney.

I installed this as a bypass for my thermal switch. It was rarely used and broke anyway. I have to crank it up to the maximum for it to even work with the fan. The overall design feels flimsy and cheap. I'll put something else in as a replacement. Probably from Lutron or Leviton. Companies that manage! Better quality, more economical fan speed controllers are available online. I do not recommend this product!

The fan was installed in an existing window. We actually had to make a special "frame around it" so we could easily slide it in when needed (summer here in Wisconsin) and take it out when it gets cooler. Evening when the air is cooler We've only had one night so far when it didn't cool the house properly until about 2am (it was 100 degrees during the day and down to 90 degrees in the evening). .

I bought 2. One worked and one didn't. Was able to return and exchange a defective unit. Now that's no longer possible. The electrician connected the fan to the switch. I don't know what to think of this product. I want to give you a reason to doubt because we have a switch that still works, but I'm stuck on one that hasn't worked after such a short time. At best, I'm disappointed with the reliability of the switch. Maybe if I had bought insurance. but the price is like a reliable product.

This is a horrible product not sold in the US market. Build quality is cheap. I used it with an iLIVING 18 inch exhaust fan and it ran the full 22 minutes before it started to fail. In less than an hour it was completely out of order. Also, when paired with an 18-inch fan, there was an annoying hum and never let the fan perform at full power. This summer I purchased an iLiving exhaust fan for my workshop through Revain along with the recommended iLiving speed controller. The fan itself worked fine but the speed controller failed within a few weeks of occasional use and the replacement speed controller also failed yesterday, also within 30 days of purchase. Revain will refund my money but I do not recommend the ILG8SFSC ESC. This is not new technology. There is no justification for launching such a flawed product. Update February 11,
