The exchange works great. Pays for itself in the 1st use.

7/18/21 - Replacement came within a day. Well! The box was again slightly damaged, but not that much. A small piece of the box is missing on the side. The replacement pump is great. Follow the directions for the first run as my original order. This one purrs like a kitten. Remember I wore earmuffs for the original because it was louder than my 3 gallon air compressor. This kit does not include the valve needed to connect the refrigerant bottle, so make sure you get one if you intend to use it. instantly. I don't think it could be the "best" pump as I'm not so sure about quality control. Or maybe the carrier knows. It's not that vacuum pumps are bought too often. They pay for themselves the first time you use them, not in the store. Even if you're doing this because you're constantly running out of Freon, a leak testing device. One of these electronic halogen testers worked great for me and found the leak rather than messing around with UV dye, goggles and a flashlight. I turned it off right away. It wasn't oil so I turned it on for another 2 seconds and turned it off again because of the noise. Couldn't figure out what was making that noise. One could only guess that the fan/motor was making contact with something inside. After a REALLY thorough inspection, I saw that the plastic fan in the vent was making contact with the air vent. This creates that squeaking noise. God I thought it was ok and I thought I had to send it back right away. So I asked for a replacement. If the second one does, I give up. Not worth saving $30 on poor quality control. Although the pressure gauges look good! Couldn't try them yet due to a problem with the pump.
