24 is probably the best place for a utility knife in 6

On a 6.5 inch blade it's almost too smooth. (Unless you're an interior decorator.) 40 provides a smooth cut and finish. Takes a little longer than my standard 16 tooth disc. 24 is probably the best place for a 6.5 inch blade. If not doing interior cabinet work again then go for 40. Great product as is everything Makita has. Image standard 16 teeth vs. 40 teeth
