I was a little hesitant to order at first based on the many reviews but I'm glad I did. I'm certainly not a scientist, so I can't comment on how effective the filter really is, but after learning that my Brita does next to nothing, I love that it not only pulls out more chemicals, it pulls out specific ones as well added minerals. such as iron, magnesium, etc., which is very convenient since my wife has multiple vitamin deficiencies due to chronic diseases. Love that it's glass, I was hoping to find it with a new jug as I didn't have a Brita plastic bottle. The most important thing to keep in mind is that every time you top off with water you REALLY want to let it sit for 3-5 minutes for the filter to work before drinking from it. It's also definitely a lot more aesthetic than the Brita, if that sort of thing bothers you. I guess I wish it was a little bigger but giving it less than 5 stars is no problem for me. For two people drinking an average to average amount of water per day (probably around 5-8 cups per day), we're likely topping up about every day and a half. My only concern is that I find the lid lifts slightly every time I pour. but it also does NOT leak or fall off so seems RELIABLE; No matter what happens I will keep an eye on it to see if it changes.
