These golden candles look very beautiful and elegant, in contrast to children's candles with numbers, colorful colorful dots and the like. They are beautiful, elegant and classic. These are white wax candles coated with gold paint. The gold color is a beautiful medium gold with a soft sheen. It's metallic but not too shiny. The color is not too yellow and not too brown. I've included a photo to show the size, but no matter what, I couldn't get my camera to pick the color correctly. These candles are actually a beautiful medium gold color that gently reflects the light. Seller's photos are much more accurate than mine in color. Candles are painted front, back, top and bottom. They have a very nice 3D chiseled look on the front that adds interest and dimension, but they are flat on the back. I love that these candles are on a plastic stick as it keeps them upright on the cake better than those that are just flat on the bottom. I love making homemade layered cakes for family birthdays and the tops are baked into rounds so these sticks work well for my round tops. The sticks are thin and 2.5 to 2.75 inches long, and they also work well for store-bought cupcakes that have that giant swirling mound of icing on them, because the stick goes right through the icing and that's what the candle looks like sits. on top of the ice. The candles themselves are 2 inches high, not counting the wick. These candles were individually wrapped. This helps keep them in good condition but they are candles and therefore a little brittle so I'm not surprised that mine has a few tiny paint defects. (See my photo for two tiny scratches in the paint, one on top and one on the bottom). Most of the time I doubt anyone will notice, but if you want pristine candles you can think of them yourself and cover them with food coloring or buy candles that you can inspect before you buy. I got them in exchange for an honest review so I didn't buy them but I find their current price very reasonable as this type of candle is typically $2-3 each when purchased separately. Overall I think these candles are beautiful and just right for making a birthday cake special, festive and elegant.
