We bought this to air the small laser cutting machine we use upstairs. It could be adapted to our sliding side window which is quite a standard size in new builds. We glue it on the inside for insulation, since air can flow through the sides. Outwardly, it looks normal, if you don't look closely, it's not particularly noticeable. We also ordered a vent cover to keep rain, bugs, and birds from trying to get into the 6-inch opening. It's probably a good idea. As soon as we install it today or tomorrow I'll write a review and let you know how it fits. But this window seal works well for us. In the dead of winter we can take it off when not in use or put extra insulation around it as it's probably 1/8 inch thick material.
