Excellent Quality Pump for Parts

This is a great replacement pump. I installed it 2000km ago and it works great. The pump itself had all the parts needed for a complete replacement except for the retaining ring. My locking ring was in good condition so I just reused it. It only took half an hour to install the pump itself, but it took about 7 hours to remove and reinstall the gas tank. To install this part you must remove the tank. This type of fuel pump always makes a whirring noise when running. However, when things get really loud, you'll know it's time for a swap before you get stuck anywhere. Installation Tips: Drive a truck or use a pump to empty the gas tank as much as possible. A tank is much easier to manipulate when it's lighter. Use the jack to raise and lower the tank. Some people say you have to partially lower the tank to install this part. You will play around with it twice as long to get the parts of the tank. I highly recommend removing the tank entirely. If the fuel lines are difficult to disconnect from the old pump fittings, you can simply unplug the connectors from the old pump since you're throwing the entire assembly away anyway. They're hard to reach, and don't let the tank drop so low that you have enough room to get to them easily. Before removing the tank, pay attention to the position of the straps. There are a few holes/slots that look like they could be used if you reinstall it. Also note that where the rear strap attaches to the frame, there is a threaded stud welded to the clamp that can slide along the frame when the strap is removed. Note its original position so you can put it back after reinstalling. In general, the installation is not very difficult, just be patient and devote a whole day to the repair. It's worth saving. Repair shops gave me estimates of $800-$900. I fixed it myself for the price of this part!
