Review on 🚲 Retrospec Bicycles Apollo Bike Basket - Detachable Half-Mesh Steel with Handles by Phillip Johnson

I bought this knowing full well that the velcro that comes with the basket is likely to tear soon and is not designed for heavy loads. It doesn't work for me, but I figured it could handle a lot more with some tweaking. The reviews are right, the velcro is extremely flimsy and broke on my first day. HOWEVER the rest of the basket is research so I made three adjustments - 1. I put a nut and bolt under the support mechanism for extra strength2. I put two zippers around the strap where it encircles the Bar3. Instead of a strap, I attached a different tie (although the strap also stayed in place). I've added photos so you can see I hope. I expect this will scratch the front of my bike a bit, but this is my primary mode of transportation so having a basket that is strong, inexpensive and easy to install was more important to me. Dollars to make those changes, and now he's carrying a 15-pound backpack with ease. I liked the price and that the basket fits my bike. Not a bad deal once you've made these changes.
