Review on πŸͺ“ Naniwa Fine Hayabusa 4000 Whetstone by Lawrence Allison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for hand tools

I'm new to whetstones so my review may not help much. Leaves a pleasant shine. Seems to cut decently, but most of the cutting has to be done at 1000 grit first. Kinda soft but manageable. Very cheap and I'm happy. Although I have nothing to compare. Now that I have more experience with stone, I can say that if you are not careful, if your angle is too big and you apply too much pressure, you can easily cut the stone. It seems to load pretty quickly compared to other gems. There also seems to be quite a lot of polishing compound in there. This leaves a mirror finish. I've noticed that the ridges form after 3-5 passes, so it's cutting pretty well. I've sharpened the stone about 50 times and haven't had to smooth it yet, so it's holding up pretty well too. Definitely recommend for the price and quality.
