Revainrating 5 out of 5

A reliable monitor with great advantages, but also with some disadvantages. Continue reading:

This monitor is great. I feel like I'm looking into another universe when I use it. It doesn't feel like I'm looking at a screen. It looks good, especially when it's off (because the bezel looks so thin. It's actually not that thin). The color is excellent. Photos I've seen over the years suddenly look better like I'm seeing them for the first time (and my last monitor wasn't even bad. I guess it just wasn't IPS). It's also nice and thin. Basically it does what I expect from a monitor and I don't regret buying it, but there are some downsides. ----- With the standard stand, it is very shaky. Maybe I could use this monitor as a seismometer. There's definitely a way to support it yourself by adding elements below the screen, but be aware that it rocks (very) straight away. Menu buttons are activated by pressing, not clicking. Sometimes they only register when gently squeezed. Sometimes only with strong pressure. Sometimes they don't. It's very difficult and they don't glow, so you'll need a flashlight to see them if there's not enough bright daylight in the room. The included software is pretty extensive. Even after the installation (Win 7) I didn't know what to do. It turns out that there are settings in the monitor menu that you can use after installing the software. The power cable is too short and too thin. It looks so cheap. Forget the auto adjust button, it doesn't work well. Go in and change the clock, phase, etc. to your liking. I had weird white lines on the screen that disappeared after I changed the phase and then sharpened a bit to get the text clear again. vs. Note that the anti-reflective coating gives the image a "grainy" texture if you look at it very closely. It's a little interesting, but not enough to make up for it. Also, make sure to use a digital connection to your monitor (HDMI, DVI, Displayport) instead of VGA (makes a big difference) for better quality. All in all, it's a good buy at a bargain price if you're willing to deal with deal-level quality issues on specific items. If you absolutely MUST have the best of the best without compromise then I would suggest looking elsewhere. I'm leaving it at 5 stars because I think a lower rating wouldn't make a difference. the information is contained in the review, make a choice that is convenient for you
