Easy plug and play for Windows, Linux

Bought to use as a data hub/drive "chassis" with a Raspberry Pi file and media server, this thing worked right out of the box. This is probably a good thing considering the amusingly poor English used for packaging and instructions. It currently powers a 3.5" SATA and two legacy Debian Pi-based portable USB drives, even over the network with no noticeable latency. via the Pi's USB ports. Mounting: Debian Linux auto-mounted all three drives with no issues, and the persistent assignment to FSTAB works fine too, with no read issues or lags. The SATA drive it contained was removed from the Windows 10 installation. It was a mounted volume attached to a nested subdirectory and when I docked it to test, Windows simply remounted it in the previously assigned location. Power management seems to be OS dependent, so most of the time there isn't one on the Pi, while on Windows it's found in Power Options and Device Manager. I haven't tested the hot-swap feature or the clone feature as both are currently not needed. e "attachment", but it can be used for more or less the same function. Unfortunately, the drive bays are open so the noise of the drive motor is not muffled when in use, and when empty the bays are open for dust etc to get into the SATA connector slots. If it had a simple vented shell big enough to fit all of this with SATA drives in the bays it would get a full 5 stars. highlighted.
