Freddie Mercury, my fabulous red rooster, wasn't quite sure when I put him in his aquarium. However, I had to do something because the Petsmart filter that came with his tank died after five months (grrr!) and I didn't want to buy a new one. This thing isn't attractive, but it can be somewhat camouflaged by plants. I often test my aquarium water and find that it does a good filter job. I love that it comes in a 3 pack so I have backups in case the filter fails with my other tanks. Cleaning is a little awkward, but not too difficult.
