Review on 🗺️ Garmin nuvi 1350 Series – 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Tory Richardson

No lane assist, works fine

I bought this for traffic functions and upgraded my nüvi 260W. Haven't tried it yet, but I understand that accuracy depends on local reports, not nüvi. They are very similar. The software works a little differently, but figuring it out isn't a problem. Living in Nova Scotia, Canada, I noticed that the direction to my house looped me back off and along the main road. Not good. Friends with Tom Tom had no problems. The Nuvi has the option to use either US miles or Canadian kilometers, which is why I didn't buy a tom tom. I like the information on the main screen which includes the next turn, the type and direction of that turn, the distance to the next turn, your speed and the arrow to bring up the main menu. The screen itself is very readable in any light, although sometimes I have to take off my sunglasses. This block picks up signals at startup much faster. This device doesn't have lane assist, but that's not too bad with a little graph of your next turn. I had to remember to look for this feature. This device also lacks Bluetooth functionality, but I'd rather have a dedicated device for that. The only real downside is that Garmin doesn't transfer a lifetime map update subscription from one device to another. As I gave my 260W to my husband it's not a big deal but it might be for someone else. Users drive carefully. Focus on the road, not your Nuvi.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Hard to tell
