This stand is way better than the stands that come standard with USB microscopes. This unit makes it much easier to focus on both distant (in terms of microscopy) and close objects, and it seems solid enough with all the screws properly tightened. If I were to find fault with this product, I would say that there are only two set screws to attach the microscope to the tripod, which can cause the microscope to tilt slightly compared to the base of the tripod. That means you can't zoom in or out on your microscope or adjust the height without moving the object you're observing unless you take the time to fine-tune it. A third set screw (or even tape or a cardboard wedge on the side of the missing screw) might have helped to solve this problem, but I didn't feel it was a enough problem to remove the star since it's back on is massive improvement over a tripod that came with my USB microscope.
