Easy to fit on the bed of a truck Body and tailgate accessories

This tailgate is easy to fit and the instructions were pretty clear. The only thing about the instructions is that I would recommend disassembling the tailgate and placing it on a surface where you can still reach the tailgate to remove the screws. I placed it over two bar stools for easy access. lay it open That way the lock doesn't slide back and forth all over the place trying to hold the lock while putting the handle on it. You will also need to insert the lock into the handle and then insert the knot into the groove in the handle or it will not tie. Second, a shorter strap is easier to route from the hole in the bottom of the tailgate to the slot for the handle. Simply stretch out your hand and the seat belt is fastened. Otherwise, skip the hard wire (hanger) and tie a wire harness to it and pull the hanger. The lock works fairly well, but if you pull the handle hard enough and wiggle the tailgate, you should be able to open the tailgate once installed. However, I think this is enough to deter thieves. Pretty good product. I do not mind. Installation only takes about an hour. The longest part led it forward under your car, through the engine compartment and through the firewall. The lock is loud enough to let you know if it's on or off. ***UPDATE:*** I've had the lock for about 7 months now and after about 4 months the lock stopped working. It unlocks about 5% of the time or blocks about 5% of the time. I broke part of the trunk handle when trying to open the trunk because the lock wouldn't open. A few days later, as I got into my truck, I pushed the button on the remote to unlock the truck and opened the tailgate latch. Now I have to open the tailgate with a screwdriver for the reason mentioned above. Purchase and install at your own risk. I checked the wiring, everything is fine. The solenoid is what fails. You can hear it trying to open or close when you lock or unlock the stacker, but the solenoid doesn't fully turn on. Does anyone else have this problem? Fix what?

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine
