Not Great: Power & Hand Tools

When I bought this tool I expected MUCH BETTER QUALITY from an industry leader. I opened the box and found a bucket of hardened cardboard fiber, oh. Then I noticed a super dusty helper (upside down) in that bucket. As I pulled it out to look at the construction I noticed 5 or 6 screws on the top holding the top to the main body. I knew I had to seal them inside to possibly fix the loss of suction. Then I noticed the adapter on the top (adapter 5-4 inches). I knew this had to be inserted and then resealed inside and out to avoid loss of suction. There was also a 5 foot piece of foam padding (1/4 x 1/8) to be placed around the bottom of the Super Dusty Vice to create a seal between the bottom of this unit and the top of the barrel. It also came with a "compression ring" to pull and lock the top of the barrel to the bottom of the duster. My next thought was how to add additional sealant to help with any potential loss of suction. You'd think a company with such a solid reputation would create something that didn't require all the components to be installed. They would also use a better system to make a gasket instead of foam. All other dust replacement systems they make have a steel drum (15-55 gallons) with a metal cover and pre-drilled holes (for dust replacement mounting gear) to accommodate each specific unit, as well as a dust helper hole for seating. Something with such a high price tag would have a much better setup without sacrificing suction power for so many likely leaks. If you have plastic and cardboard that's over $200, they shouldn't be made in the US. Otherwise, all things considered, the Super Dust Vice did a great job as described after repairing the elements that may have caused the loss of suction. Just a very light dust trail in a clear collector's bag. If the quality improved and a better bucket (small drum) was used it would cost another $50 and NO BAD reviews.
