This band is made of two pieces of smooth, durable rubber. Does not tighten or hurt wrist hair. The colorful piece is covered in a different black rubber, making this strap thicker and more durable than the original strap that the watch came with. The watch does not slide in and out of the slot very easily. It fits the socket very well, so you don't have to worry about it falling out during hard work. The rubber around the seat flexes but snaps back into place immediately and is very firm so I don't think water gets into the cavity where the watch is placed. The original strap was very shiny, like plastic, and thinner to tear it more easily, which happened to my original strap after only a year of use.
