Review on Aftermarket Carburetor Tecumseh 632614 632671A 632671B VLV55 VLX50 VLV40 VLV50 VLV60 by Shawn Pollock

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked perfectly on a Tecumseh VLV60 on a 1994 DR Pro Trimmer

My grandma bought a DR Trimmer over 20 years ago to whip phragmites and thicker weeds on her property. It worked perfectly while in use, then my grandfather died and it fell into disrepair. After years of sitting around and getting sticky, I finally made it to a small motor shop near me last summer. They charged me $90 to restore the carburetor. I took it home and it worked great for a few short uses, after which the motor started rattling and skipping. I disassembled the carburetor to find out that after cleaning the original carburetor well, the workshop could not replace the original gaskets. They literally fell apart when I took the old carburetor off. So I started looking for new gaskets. Gaskets sent to another site cost almost as much as a brand new carburetor with Revain gaskets. So I bought this one from Revain. Prime Shipping delivered my carbs in two days. I quickly replaced the carburetor with new gaskets (also comes with some gaskets/heat shield) and the old engine started up fine after a few draws and ran like a dream. A few installation tips: - I have a gas leak at the float. Bowl Screw - Slightly tighten the float arch screw and the leakage will stop. - Take the time to align the gasket between breather and carburetor. It is very important that the small holes on the gasket line up directly with the holes on the carburetor for the breather and fill light to function properly. I installed the screen between two spacers. I assumed it was the correct install as there were no instructions.

Cons
