This is a fantastic heater because it produces so much hot air and is very quiet and because it looks like a small wood stove. The room I bought it for has white furniture so I was happy to find a white stove. I survived two and a half weeks without heat in a 1000 square foot house. m, except for the wall heating in the bathroom, with outside temperatures between the single digits and the low 30s, mostly in the 20s. The temperature in the room remained below forty degrees and even almost forty degrees. Needless to say I curled up in bed or wrapped in a blanket on the bed and felt warm there but it was just a shame to eat in because firstly it was too cold to cook (no stove) except for something in the oven or warm it up in the microwave. But the time it took to get the food from the container into my mouth made my fingers freeze. This whole situation was the result of a control panel failure on my almost new large pellet stove. Under warranty, the manufacturer was happy to send out a new panel quickly, but it took three weeks before my damaged hands (due to a broken tractor snowblower) prevented me from installing the unit. Even if I hire someone to replace the controls, it will be a month or more before I can handle the pellets and keep this stove full to brighten up the living room until next fall. After deciding on heaters I settled on this little white room. But when I did that, I forgot what material the body is made of because of its appearance. Yes, it's plastic, everything except the actual furnace block under the belly of the furnace. Sitting here at my desk I can see the undersides of the two rear legs and they're clearly plastic, but sitting across the room you never really notice. I want to make a metal cover for the top for purely aesthetic reasons. The heater is powerful enough to keep a plant or some decorative items on it. A black metal grille located just behind the window and door frames enhances the atmosphere created by the lit logs and flames behind. Surprisingly, while I know the truth about flame materials and design, I really enjoy looking up from my desk and seeing the chimney layout and stove design. When you enter or leave the room, you see the tree trunks from a different angle, and that's nice too. I definitely recommend an electric fireplace that looks like a wood stove. It's a good idea to have a pellet stove on hand when she's on vacation.
