I always seasoned it with olive oil for cooking. I keep it next to the stove so I can easily grab it and add a good drizzle of olive oil to the pan to cook it all up. The drop drips off to the side and lands on your counter. It doesn't have that at all. The top seals it well when not in use and doesn't drip. It's also easy to fill. Simply remove the cap and fill directly from the bottle. If you're really concerned you can use a funnel, but I've found I don't usually need it. Bottom line, you need this to avoid oil bottles that end up dripping around the lid!
