To be clear my bike is loud not so famously loud when people say loud pipes save lives so they make their bikes loud. Mine is an old job where the previous owner really screwed it up a bit and broke the muffler in half so it's a LOUD thing. For example, loudly press your hands to your ears. When I saw all the people complaining about the volume in this helmet, I was concerned. But I knew what fit I needed and ordered them believing I could rely on ear tips when needed. As I rode my bike at freeway speeds, I found that while I can hear my engine (an important thing) and wind noise, other people's complaints lead me to believe they buy helmets that are as quiet as a grave, or If you have a helmet that is too big, the collar will not fit well and noise/wind will become an issue. TL; DR: Get the right size for you and you'll find that this is an amazing helmet for the price. Make it too big because it's "more comfortable", yes it will be noisy and won't protect you as it should.
