Used in professional (rental) AV environments. We have to share a printer with four laptops and cannot install the software on the computers. Of course, this requires at least Windows XP and that the shared printer is displayed on this operating system. This is the ONLY app we used for the device. Not ideal because it doesn't switch automatically, but we've never seen a USB switch that did (the old Centronics switches did). All in all though, hotkey switching (enabled without installing any software) is a good compromise, no external power is required (important), the device works well and is as good as any other device for our purposes.
