We have a Genie Accelerator and I've found that the remote button has failed over the years as the new battery didn't help. If you press hard it will work. I found this one and worked great after programming it to open by pressing the learn button on the open garage door and pressing the button on the remote three times. It seems to have more range than the original as it can open 2-3 houses further as it gets closer to the garage. When you get it, press the button to see if the red light comes on. Then it only has to be programmed to match the door opener. The one I received did not have an M23/24 battery installed in the small hole in the back cover as the battery turned out to be in the main body. Remote control. I opened the little lid and was empty, but the red light still came on when the button was pressed, so it's not the battery there. When the battery dies, I figure out how to replace it. For now, however, it's the perfect replacement for the much lower price point that Genie wants with its logo.
