I expected the cutter to be effective at cutting off leaking collars. Outside of the packaging, all edges and small holes on the handle, recoil spring lock washer, and slots in the body of the tool had rough edges. They were rough enough to break the leather and took a bit of work with a file and sandpaper to smooth them out. I shouldn't have bothered - since the cutting edge of the tool is not very effective in cutting the yoke. After that disappointment I went back to using several Stanley hooks in my utility knife.
