Bad tools, no spare parts.

PowerGrip clamps work better than any other type of clamp I have used. This tool sucks. The blade broke on first use. Although the part number for replacement blades is listed on the back of the box, I can't find it anywhere. I called Gates direct, they couldn't get the replacement part out. Eventually it turned out that replacement blades are no longer available and they recommend replacing the entire tool.

Poor tool for removing a bad collar

I expected the cutter to be effective at cutting off leaking collars. Outside of the packaging, all edges and small holes on the handle, recoil spring lock washer, and slots in the body of the tool had rough edges. They were rough enough to break the leather and took a bit of work with a file and sandpaper to smooth them out. I shouldn't have bothered - since the cutting edge of the tool is not very effective in cutting the yoke. After that disappointment I went back to using several Stanley…

Doesn't work properly

Gates heat shrink tape is the worst way to secure a hose. As a technician, this was my worst enemy and cost a lot of money for damage. I bought this tool hoping it would be easy to uninstall but instead found that it doesn't work as advertised. The best option is to just heat the chisel and cut it, hoping you don't ruin the hose or knife. I had high hopes for this tool and bragged about it in front of my colleagues, but finally, when I used it for the first time, I regretted that I couldn't…
