Review on πŸ“¦ UnderCover SwingCase SC400D Truck Bed Storage Box for Toyota Tundra - Drivers Side by David Gibbs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice well designed truck crate

This item is pretty cool. And comfortable. Just remember that it doesn't last much. It doesn't hold up much. "Ready minimum" is the term to use when imagining this box. I managed to fit a set of sockets, a small bag with various tools. Hand tools, 1 tow strap, 2 weight straps, jumper cables, gloves, towel and you're done. Installation was easier than the YouTube video suggests and they look pretty easy. All I had to do was take a deep breath and swallow as I pierced my new truck bed. 4 times. But it turned out perfect and I'm not a mechanic. The case swings well, the clasps and locking mechanisms are secure, as is the case itself. For plastic. I am sure that a screwdriver and a firm push can break the lock and open the door in 2 seconds. So don't keep valuables in it. But it holds up well and doesn't rattle. You can also easily remove the case which is nice, just make sure you have a lock so nobody else can. Last night a group of (suspected) teenagers broke into 4 cars and stole everything they could find in my apartment building. When I got up this morning, the key lock on my suitcase was open. I thought it was weird and just clicked it back. After my neighbor came over and explained the burglaries to me, I realized they were probably trying to sneak into my suitcase unnoticed but couldn't because of the lock. Keep it locked! Overall good case. Too bad they don't do an XL or something like that. It can be several inches higher and still sit well below the top edge of the truck body rail. And slightly thicker plastic would inspire more confidence. Maybe an aluminum model? I would buy that.

Pros
  • Cute item
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
