Scale forms easily in hard water systems
The bottom of my burner has slightly scaled up from my water (not necessarily the kettle's fault) but it's not that fun to close clean as i should leave white vinegar on it for few hours. I wish these kettles came with a ceramic plate at the bottom to prevent limescale build up. It works well though and I like the 'warm' function when I want another tea or a bag of oatmeal etc.
