Multiple repairs best in complete assemblies
I found that I also had to lower the sector gear bracket to gain access to the tie rod nuts. With everything disassembled I inspected the transmission drive belt and was shocked at its poor condition. Replaced while available. All in all, this repair took some time (and a good clean) but now my mower is ready for another 10 years.
