My family is very picky about drinking utensils so I don't like spending a dime on replacements. That being said, I dislike plastic drinkware and prefer (mostly) matching or at least uniform drinkware. There is a constant search for glassware that * isn't overly expensive * isn't exceptionally fragile * goes well with our glassware * is nicely stylish * feels good in the hand * is of a decent weight so it's not easy to lose your balance , once it is filled. Libbey is one of my favorite brands but I was skeptical about this particular style. , through which a belt runs. (I've had similar ones before and they were some of the worst. They would break if you looked at them the wrong way!). Luckily they are much better! The packaging was pretty cool (my eldest is moving in the not too distant future and I plan to reuse the box and dividers!) Everything arrived safe and sound, no damage. thick base and 4 cut-outs for the little fingers along the glass perimeter. There is also a small indentation on the bottom which I think is to prevent them from sticking to the coasters and having never had sticks on my coasters I would say it works. I washed them in the dishwasher. upon arrival and some of them collected a very small amount of water in the indentation at the bottom of the jar but it was a very small amount and I just wiped it off with a paper towel when I put the jars on the shelf. Overall very happy with this purchase and hope my family doesn't break them too soon!
