Junk Dorman Parts. Should have known better! I'd rather buy a cheap Chinese part on eBay. It appears that Dorman's manufacturing process did not deem it necessary to drill a hole through the flange for the dipstick tube. So after installing the flange and painting the new oil pan 7.3L Porsche-15, then installing the oil pan and installing the engine back into the truck. When I'm about to put in a new OEM dipstick tube it goes down. Wouldn't go any further! My fault is that I didn't check the part beforehand, but it's reasonable to assume I'll get a properly made part. There was enough lip at the bottom of the hole that it was impossible to push the dipstick tube all the way down to seat the ring and gasket. When the engine was shut off, the oil pan moved away and a nose had to be ground to get the pipe the rest of the way. Thanks for nothing Dorman!
