I bought this bag for long walks with the dog. The backpack allows me to carry water, my phone, lunch bags and has enough space to take my wallet with me if I want to. I walk with it, not run, so I don't know how it would work for runners. I added a snap hook to the buckle and attached a leash for my dogs to it. This is how I walk dogs without the help of hands. Works well with my large dog.
