This little ring solved a simple problem for my Mini and me. The chrome ring supplied as standard broke, causing the key fob to no longer sit securely in the ignition lock. On a sharp turn, if only a couple of keys were attached to the fob, or my knee touched it, the fob would fall out of the ignition. My Mini would have warned me if I hadn't already known that the key is gone and it won't start the car once it's turned off. That always worked when you glued it back in after a stop, but it was annoying. I checked here and several other online stores and found that many of them were either just another cheap piece of plastic or too bulky to fit in. This one seemed to look just right. After delivery I attached it to the key. There is a little gap, this is normal. It was a bit difficult to put on for the first few weeks ie it was a bit big but after a while it became very tight on the plastic and now it fits perfectly. The key fob no longer falls out of the ignition, looks better than an old chipped chrome ring and is just a cool piece of aluminum. Can I recommend this ring to other Mini owners? Yes, but only for R56 owners. I don't have any other builds so I advise you to tread carefully unless it's R56. Find your mini chassis in other reviews here.
