After reading some rave reviews, I'm a little embarrassed to criticize; However, it proved of little use on my Toshiba 4100XDVD Predator laptop. I feel like the king of coasters making them like McDonald's burgers. I am using the latest drivers and also the Roxio (Adaptec) Platinum version 5.01 software to TRY and burn my CDs. But I still get about a 50% burn rate at best. CDs are cheap, but my time isn't. So if the burner bursts in half an hour, I'll restart the whole process and keep putting my coasters higher. I should have known better. My friends warned me against buying Iomega CD-RWs, but when I read that they were PC Magazine Editors' Choice I knew they weren't wrong (I'll read their stuff with caution from now on ). ). This burner may have been designed for Mac users, but it definitely conflicts with my Toshiba laptop. Hope that helps.
