I was thinking about buying the Sigma 14-24 f2.8 or this one from Nikon. The reason I got this was to eliminate the need for an FTZ adapter. After the first shot (attached) I knew I had made the right choice. The lens is almost as light as the 24-70 f4 I bought before, but the faceplate is wide, but I can put a CPL filter on it because it's flat on the faceplate. With the Sigma I couldn't use the CPL and all the other filters were reinstalled on the lens before it was attached to the camera. couldn't resist the purchase. I'll test it out on my next trip to the national parks in a few months, but for now I'll go to the beach and take some photos and then I can update this review. My first use of a lens I can tell you that this is really good glass even though it looks like a $500 lens not a $1200 lens.
