Abuy 2 years ago I needed to replace the fuel pump on my '98 Chevy pickup. I bought an Airtex fuel pump at a local parts store. The pump has a one year guarantee. After a year and a half, the fuel level sensor stopped working. The engine was difficult to start and then the check engine light came on with a tank pressure code. I ended up replacing the pump but not the Airtex brand. I don't know how long this one will last, only time will tell. Now the engine starts normally, the fuel level sensor works, the control does not light up. After looking at the contacts on the transmitter on the pump, I found that one of the contacts had worn out and was no longer making contact. Shouldn't happen in such a short time. After checking out other reviews and blogs, I found that many people were having the same issues. I don't know which brand to buy but I will never buy Airtex again.
