Review on πŸ’¨ KingDian 120GB SSD: Enhance Performance with 3D NAND SATA III 2.5" 7mm Internal Solid State Drive by Tim Ram

Revainrating 5 out of 5

King Dian S280 240GB SSD 2.5 "

Still working great after 7 months. Uses it to install Windows and Linux with NTFS, ext4 and btrfs filesystems. Seems faster than Mushkin Being Source II, WD Blue or Green SSD Initially I had an issue where it was recognized by the BIOS but not the Windows installer, I had to use Linux and GParted to create a disk partition before Windows could be installed This is also a common problem with other brand SSDs. I deducted 1 star for that, but this is not unique to the KingDian brand or the S280. My only minor gripe is the cheap looking 2.5" black and white Plastic case. But no one will see the weird case in my old Dell 3340 laptop anyway. For a budget of $30 with a 240GB SSD, it works perfectly. I'm currently using Linu x Mint. For Windows, I would probably go for the 480GB version.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
