This knife sharpener is a handy tool in the kitchen. It can be used for both metal and ceramic knives. The sharpener is really easy to use - just pull the knife through the sharpener in one direction a few times (I like to use the coarse slot first and then the fine slot) and the knife will become noticeably sharper. all ceramic knives so can't comment on a ceramic sharpener but the metal sharpener slots work really well. The sharpener itself is made of ABS and stainless steel with non-slip rubber feet. The sharpener is easy to hold with one hand and guide the knife blade through the sharpening slot with the other hand. The sharpener is only intended for use with straight bladed knives and not serrated knives or scissors of any kind. In short: • three types of sharpening slots - ceramic, coarse, fine • easy and quick to use • not for scissors or serrated Blades • To sharpen, pull the knife in one direction, don't slide the knife back and forth I'm happy with this sharpener so I have a quick and easy way to sharpen my knives.
