Good for GeoCaching, good portability but bad battery life

I have the exact same device and have been using it for GeoCaching for about 6 months. The inside of the device is pretty much the same as the more expensive ones - you know you're in the right place. Much of the user interface is the same as the more expensive models. The main benefit of this device (besides the price) is its size - it's smaller than the next products in the range and easier to slip into your pocket. Battery life. The time you get from 2 AAA is not that big. You'll eat a bunch of batteries every time you go outside. I counter this by turning on the device just to get my bearings. With a device that uses AA batteries, I could leave it on and use the tracklog/return functions. I'm thinking about it. Some other factors to consider; Display - Moving beyond the basic yellow Etrex unit, Garmin units have higher resolution displays, which is nice. Connectivity - you can do without it, but this model is the only one that doesn't let you upload waypoints (at 201 I'm not sure). Experienced geocachers prefer more expensive models with more memory. They load a large number of cached waypoints into memory and are ready to go no matter where they are in their home zone. If you prefer hikers/cachers, cheaper models will do the same job, even this one. show no other features. More expensive models can display natural objects and even download topographic maps. You can use GeoCache with almost any GPS. Etrex yellow is standard but has served me well. Happy caching!
