Installation documentation

The installation instructions say to install the software from a CD - there was a USB stick in the box where the installation manual and software were found. Improved media for this, but documentation needs updating. (Many/most modern PCs don't have CD drives, but all have USB, so that's good.) Try it first - the display interface can't find the device. Uninstalling and then reinstalling solved the problem. I figured it's best to copy the contents of the USB stick to my PC's hard drive and install from there. This behavior is somewhat expected in this world, but I needed some experience in such things. The naive user may be disappointed. I'm still researching the settings and options. However, I haven't gotten the LEDs to light up yet, so I had to use the room's ambient light to take a still picture. Which isn't ideal. Maybe the switch to using them is somewhere in the manual or the settings buttons. Otherwise, the fast image capture is a welcome improvement over the standard flatbed scanner. You can also scan the pages of a bound book without damaging the binding. High throughput and the ability to scan fragile items are the reasons I bought this device. So far it works. I also chose the 10MB imager because of the quality of the resolution. I don't have time to scan hundreds or thousands of pages at any resolution other than the highest resolution I can find (at this price point).
