Great little antenna for radio scanners

Finally a low profile, multi-band antenna that adequately picks up LOW VHF frequencies! The higher frequencies are designed for good reception on the 800, UHF, and VHF bands. But what I missed in So.Cal on TWO earlier streetcar antennas (less than $20.00 each) was picking up low VHF frequencies in the 39.00-40.00 frequency range and in the 42.00-45.00 range for CHP . Received AM aircraft frequencies were much stronger compared to other brands. The goal was to have the lowest possible profile with good reception and no unwanted "noise" or interference. A NOTICE. The reception depends not only on the antenna, but also on the bandwidth and the POWER of this signal and the radio unit. Previous low-height antennas failed on low VHF reception but worked fine on other frequency bands, but this suction cup solves the problem without spending $100 or more. Definitely requires a long cable - say 3-4 feet more. Example: From a rear spoiler on a Ford Explorer that goes forward into the skin, the cable ended behind the driver's seat! Went to Fry and bought a $10 3ft extender and coupler and the problem was solved. I would highly recommend this antenna unless someone can offer a better one at a really low price. It works - might buy another!
