Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Efficient Refrigerant Dispensing: Mastercool 85510 R134a Can Tap Valve-Screw-On Model by Daniel Steele

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good quality, but there are a few important points.

Quality faucet, very tight, well-made. There are a few things to note: 1) Unscrew the handle fully counter-clockwise before screwing it onto the glass. 2) I found the fit on the can to be very snug when I first screwed it on. But I kept twisting my hand with reasonable force until she got up properly. No excessive force is required. 3) The middle yellow line on my pressure gauge bolts well to this faucet which was the main reason I bought it. Only downside: 4) For California, I found this to work for the FIRST TIME for refrigerant release, it's really not properly compatible with the self-sealing/resealable cans currently used in California. I was able to get it to open the valve the first time, but it didn't work the second time (I really couldn't tell why). This is because it is a single-tipped piercing type faucet and not a flat-tipped faucet compatible with California (refillable) self-sealing cans. To solve this problem, I had to buy a $3 adapter at an auto parts store. As it turned out, the Mastercool faucet wasn't needed. I've always been able to use a $3 adapter and screw it directly into the manifold gauge. However. Either way the quality is good and if you need a piercing type faucet this is a good choice but if you have a standard new type California refrigerant bottle then this item is most likely not needed.
