Ball is very hard plastic and makes loud clunks when it hits walls or objects. It wiggles and has a light but my cat isn't to crazy about it. I put it in her tunnel at night and she will chase the light some but she is much more entertained by her softer non plastic balls.The charge is so/so. At least the ball turns off on its own after a bit. This does help charge last but I find I need to charge it every couple of days, and that is a bit annoying considering she don't really care for it. It should last quite a long time. I doubt any normal cat could damage the hard shell.Some pets may like it more than mine. We gave it a try and learned our kitten prefers soft toys.
